The Emergency First Response course is a non-diving certification, and no previous experience or qualifications are required to sign up. If you plan to take your PADI Rescue Diver or PADI Divemaster course, then you’ll need to be EFR certified before you begin. To start your rescue training, your first aid and CPR certification must be current (within the last 24 months). This EFR certification meets all PADI requirements as a stand-alone course and acts as a refresher if you have previously taken training, but it’s now out of date. The course focuses on two main areas: Primary Care (CPR) – You’ll go through all the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergencies.
