About Us
Our Story
潜水
Early Chinese characters were made up of drawings that used pictures or symbols to represent words and ideas instead of sounds. In fact, most characters were originally intended as visual representations or pictographs of natural physical elements like day & night, trees, mountains, water and humans. And the combination of these symbols into a larger logogram often derived a meaning that is greater than the sum of all its parts.
That is the foundation of our resort name 潜水.
潜水
The japanese words Sensui, or qián shuǐ in mandarin, while pronounced slightly differently, mean the same thing in both the Japanese and Mandarin language – Diving!
The component “氵” represents ‘water’, which is the natural environment in which diving activities occur. Next we have “夫” which represents ‘man’. And, seemingly to emphasize the importance of having a buddy while diving, “夫夫” is used.
Finally, ”日” represents ‘day’ and suggests that back in the old days when there was no way to use light underwater, this was an activity to be carried out during the day
When the symbols combine, a new meaning is formed telling the story and representing diving as an activity carried out in water by buddies during the day. It suggests also that diving dates back many many centuries and was an activity carried out even back then.
At Sensui Dive Resort, we want you to come and enjoy this ancient activity to experience our wonderful underwater world below with friends while always staying safe! So come join us as we go 潜水!

EXCELLENT Based on 55 reviews Posted on L. Marianne WeserTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We really enjoyed diving with Michael & his son! Nice guides, less crowded but nevertheless beautiful dive sites!Posted on JJTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So many good things to say about Sensui Dive and Michael! This is going to be one long review. Back in January I first contacted Michael, hoping to do a couple of fun dives in Chumporn. What I didn’t realize was that it was still sort of monsoon season. Instead of taking us out anyway (which many operators would have done just to make money), Michael chose not to go, and I really appreciated that. I’ve been on trips before where the boat clearly should not have left the pier (strong rain, high tide, wind so rough that I couldn’t even submerge because the waves pushed me back up.) So the fact that he prioritized safety over profit left a strong impression. We agreed to return in late August–September, and I’m so glad we did. This time everything was perfect. Michael is not only knowledgeable and professional, but also genuinely kind and fun to be around. He has plenty of stories and a real passion for what he does. I hadn’t been diving for a while and was a bit rusty with setting up my gear but he walked me through it patiently. The dive sites were chosen with care. Visibility was great, there was plenty of marine life, and our group was small (just four of us including Michael and his son, who is training as a Dive Master). I felt safe, relaxed, just the way diving should be. The boat was just for our group, the staff was friendly, and the homemade food (breakfast & lunch) and all day snacks, fruits, drinks were great. Towels are also provided. I’ve done both budget trips and more luxurious liveaboards (Thailand & elsewhere) and I can honestly say this was one of my best diving experiences. Safe, well-organized, and personal. Can’t wait to come back again 🙇🏻♀️❤️Posted on Pedro RodríguezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When we looked for a place to dive in Thailand we were somewhat lost since the weather was not very favourable because of the dates in which we were going, we found Chumphon Bay by chance and we contacted Michael, from the first moment he was helpful and helped us, when we arrived in Chumphon the experience only improved since it has adapted to us perfectly, diving with him and we contacted Sam has been a learning experience, since they are expert divers. The marine fauna in this place is incredible and we have enjoyed it a lot. The diving centre has definitely been spectacular and I hope to return. As Michael says Sabai Sabai.Posted on Marina FuentesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We decided to go diving in Chumphon in August, and it was truly incredible. The service was fabulous, thanks to Michael, an unforgettable experience. The equipment, the food, and the dives were spectacular. Thank you so much for everything; I'm delighted. I also want to thank Sam, a true professional. Michael definitely has a great dive center. I hope to return and will definitely come back. Always in my mind! Just Sabai sabai. I am generally bad in the water but they made me complete all of the dives and exercises and I saw crazy fish and turtles with them, well organized, great service and definitely recommend for everybody wanting to dive (experienced or beginner). They picked us up every day, showed us some cool spots and restaurants and were overall fun and lovely people!Posted on Nicholas KTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience with Michael and Lana diving at Koh Lak Ngam, Ngam Yai, Ngam Noi, and Hin Phae. Good food, rental equipment in excellent condition, strong knowledge of the sites and region, and very helpful local recommendations and assistance with bookings.Posted on Kathleen GoslingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We did our Open Water course with Michael in Chumphon and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. He was incredibly focused on the fundamentals, with a strong emphasis on safety and proper technique - which gave us such a solid foundation as new divers. He was patient (despite my panicked fear of being in the ocean), thorough, and had a great way of explaining things that made us feel comfortable and confident underwater (even when we were flailing a little!). His gear is in great condition, and he was kind enough to pick us up and drop us at the dive sites in before and after on all days. Thanks to Michael, we kicked off our diving journey with skills we genuinely felt proud of (especially now that we’ve see. other places in comparison). We highly recommend him! Just to note: currently the boat leaves from Thung Wua Laen Beach. If you want accommodation close to where you’ll be diving check with Michael if this is still the case to make things easier all round. It does change occasionally so best to check.Posted on Jason O'ConnellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I spent a week diving with Michael in Chumphon and had a fantastic experience, the absolute highlight being an unforgettable encounter with a whale shark. I did my advanced certificate while I was there. Michael is a highly experienced and professional deep sea diver and knows the local dive sites intimately so you are in the best possible hands with him. Michael stands out for his warmth, friendliness, and enthusiasm. He goes above and beyond for his customers, and would take us to town for a bite to eat and a beer in the evening. Guests get a glimpse of a part of Thailand overlooked by most tourists. I would highly recommend Sensui Dive Resort for any certification or just some wonderful recreational diving without the crowds you find in other places. I look forward to returning.Posted on Pia ElisaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did my advanced open water license here and it was great. Michael is a great teacher, the dive sites are amazing and everything else as well: boat, crew, lunch, snacksVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
